Detroit Fall Beer Fest

The Detroit Fall Beer Festival is held every year by Michigan Brewers Guild, not only do they put on this event, they sponsor it. The Michigan Brewers Guild is a non-profit corporation, they dedicate their time to increasing the sales of Michigan brewed beer through marketing, public awareness, promotions and consumer education. They also spend their time making sure a healthy beer industry is maintained within the state. They hold many beer festivals throughout the year throughout the state of Michigan. However, the most popular festival is the Detroit Fall Beer Festival. The Detroit beer festival in held at Eastern Market in Detroit every fourth Saturday and Sunday of October. The festival is a great place to go and try all of those brews you haven't had the chance to try before. Michigan craft beers are often looked over for the cheaper Coors Light, Bud Light or Miller Lite. Every year since it's opening, the Detroit Fall Beer Festival has sold out of tickets before the event was even here! Tickets for the Detroit Fall Beer Festival go sale online three months before the event, within that three month period is when the tickets sell out. Every year the festival plans to sell tickets at the gate of the festival, but there are never any left! This festival is a favorite among all Michiganders, which is why every year the festival is in higher and higher demand. Tickets are priced online at all different prices, and one ticket comes with some amenities. The best ticket deal, priced at 40$ will include 15 drink tokens, one token is good for a 3oz. sample of beer. The next ticket deal is known as the 'designated driver' ticket, priced at only 5$ a pop, this is for those who do not plan on drinking during the event, the DD of your group. Any person who is entering on a designated driver ticket will not be permitted to drink, period. Anyone who is caught drinking on a designated driver ticket, will be removed and banned from the festival. So if you think you may want to drink, let someone else in the group go for the designated driver ticket. If there are any tickets left after pre-sale online, they will be for sale at the gate for 45$. Additional drink tokens will be available for purchase inside the event. If you are a member of the Michigan Brewers Guild, you will be able to utilize an entire extra hour of fun, because the festival will open an hour prior to general admission each day. So you will be able to enjoy an entire hour of drinking with your fellow Michigan Brewers Guild members! A valid membership card will be necessary in order to enter the festival an hour early. Drink tokens have their own policy that everyone at the festival will have to follow. Each token will be good for a 3 oz. pour sample of your choice! The Michigan Brewed Guild utilizes these drink tokens with specially marked cups to assure that they are complying with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission regulations. Patrons of the festival will be expected to provide a token for each and every sample they have. Extra tokens will be available for purchase at the event for only 50 cents a piece.
